The contract of live
broadcasting of Virkiä-Jukola on Urheilukanava TV-channel was signed on May 5
2006. The contract insures that Virkiä-Jukola will be broadcast live from the
beginning of the Venla Relay until the victory celebrations of Jukola Relay.
The contract is a part of a deal that also includes the broadcasting of
Tampere-Jukola in 2008 as well as the 2007 and 2008 Huippuliiga league
competitions being televised, thanks to the involvement of the Finnish
Orienteering Federation.
"The early signing of the
contract enables Virkiä-Jukola to utilize the channel for advertising
