The Virkiä Jukola breaks the record in the number of participants. Last year’s Salo Jukola had 13018 competitors. This record was broken early Thursday morning May 31st when sports club Kankaanpään Suunnistajat registered themselves to Jukola.
At the moment the Venla relay will be run by 895 teams and the Jukola Relay has 1352 registered teams. The competitors come from all over the world; the farthest teams are from the United States of America and Canada.
