Mats Halden from Halden SK says the Simpsiö terrain is always challenging for the team. The terrain is different from what the team is used to closer to home. Simpsiö's subtle differences in height and the precise map therefore offer a challenge for the Swedish team. Haldin says that for his part preparations have gone well: his fitness is good and expectations high. The team, of course, plays to win but the Venla Relay proved that all is possible. Haldin considers the worst competition for his team to be Kalevan Rasti, Vaajakosken Terä, Vehkalahden Veikot and Tampereen Pyrintö.
