The Jukola registration has ended. Somewhat surprisingly, the number of teams and competitors broke the previous records of Salo Jukola.
A total of 1364 teams have registered in the Jukola relay (Salo: 1362 teams)and 901 teams in the Venla relay (Salo: 871). The number of competitors in the Virkiä Jukola is thus 13 152 (13 018). There are teams from 21 countries (19), the farthest from the west-coast of the United States. The record in participating countries is still held by the Anjalankoski Jukola (26 countries) that had teams from Brazil, Columbia, and Turkey due to the military World Championships held in Finland at the same time. There are no teams from Australia in Lapua this year; Ireland, Italy, and Austria are newcomers.

- there are 23 fewer Swedish teams in the virkiä Jukola. These are Swedish reserve teams. Salo was more accessible to Swedes due to geographical proximity.
- Norway takes part with 7 fewer teams than last year

- the extra Finnish teams are mostly sports club teams
